Ranger Exes Memorial - RHS Class of 1947

Nona Lennon NONA LENNON MITCHELL, 78, passed away April 15, 2008, with burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery near Ranger, TX. She attended Ranger High School as a Junior in 1946. Nona was born April 15, 1930 to Charles and Lavada (McGowen) Lennon in Olton, TX. She spent her child- hood in Olton, Frankel, and Ranger. She graduated from Breckenridge High School and later married Dave Mitchell in Ranger in September of 1947. They lived in Breckenridge and moved to Jal, NM, in 1961 and later to Aspermont in 1967 and have been there ever since. Nona taught Sunday school at the First Baptist Church for many years and helped head the Girls in Action. She was a great Bible scholar and had a wonderful Bible library at her house. Nona loved to draw and was a wonderful artist. She also liked to crochet and work in the yard. She did her share of seamstress work and loved her cats and horses. She is fondly remembered for her baking. She loved life, the Lord and her family very much. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband who died in 2004. She is survived by her children, Jimmy Dave and wife Artie Mitchell, Shirley Ann and husband Jimmy Gaddis, and Ricky Joe Mitchell, grandchildren, Jimmy Heath Mitchell and Shellby Lynn Gaddis, great-grandchildren, Colton, Caegan, Cylar and M'Caidyn Mitchell.
