WANDA JOY BANKSTON SNIDER, 84, passed
away on Jan. 4, 2015 at a local hospital in
Abilene, TX, with burial at Elmwood Memorial
Park Cemetery
Wanda was born on Jan. 24, 1930 in Ranger, TX
to the late Thomas Elner & Iva Hise Bankston.
She attended Ranger High School in the Class of
1947. Wanda enjoyed ceramics, porcelain dolls,
oil painting, and was an avid book reader. She
was a homemaker and a Baptist.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her
husband, Paul Snider; a sister, Jean Bankston
Bird (RHS-1959); a son, Michael Snider; and a
grandson, Matthew Griffing-Ford.
Survivors at the time of her death include her
two sons, Kevin and Keith Snider; her daughter,
Deborah Church; grandchildren, Tiffany Wildman
and husband, Brent, Joshua Griffing and wife,
Kandy, Natasha Daniel and husband, Garren,
Miranda Coleman, and Lisa Bleeker-Ford; and
twelve great-grandchildren.
MOTHER: LELA IVA HISE BANKSTON, 92,
was born Dec. 11, 1907 & died Nov. 12, 2000 in
Abilene, TX. She married Thomas Elmer Bankston
& they had two daughters; Wanda Bankston (RHS-
1947) and Lila Jean Bankston (RHS-1959), both
are deceased. Thomas Bankston died in 1987 in
Ranger, TX.
