GENE FRANKLIN "BO" DEATON, 85, passed away May 24,
2016.
Gene was born Oct. 18, 1930, in Ranger, TX along with
his twin sister, Jo Ann, to William Franklin & Meda
Vaden Deaton. Jo Ann gave him the name "Bo" while
trying to say brother and it stuck for a lifetime
with family and friends. He attended Ranger High
School in the Class 1948. He served in the U.S.
Air Force in Korea and Japan and graduated from
North Texas State University. Gene was employed by
Phillips Petroleum Company for over 30 years in the
Property Tax, Real Estate & Claims Department. Gene
was a good softball player, a fair tennis player and
a poor golfer, but he loved it. He was a member of
the Altamesa Church of Christ in Fort Worth, and
served as a deacon in congregations in Oklahoma City,
OK. He was a most kind, considerate & loving husband,
father and grandfather, and his dry sense of humor
will be sorely missed.
