MALCOM EARL "MONK" OFFIELD went to his heavenly
home on April 25, 2019.
Malcom was born on Oct. 19, 1930 in Breckenridge,
TX to Malcom & Maxine Offield and raised in Breck-
enridge and Ranger, TX. He graduated from Ranger
High School in 1948 & attended college in Arlington
and Denton. He met Billie Sue Latimer at a dance
and they later married in Dec. of 1950 in Albany,
TX. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1951
during the Korean War, stationed in Baltimore and
San Antonio, then assigned as an Operating Room
Tech at the military hospital in Germany thru 1953.
"Monk" and Billie Sue had three daughters and one
son. He worked for Recognition Equipment in Dallas
as a machinist and as an entrepreneur, had his own
appliance repair business and other businesses. He
and Billie Sue moved back to Breckenridge in 1979,
where he stayed busy with real estate & participated
in Senior Citizen Center activities.
Monk loved being on the water and was always an avid
fisherman, the fish just seemed to jump into his boat.
He enjoyed golf, tennis and dominoes, an Offield family
tradition. He played guitar and was very competitive
in all sports and board games. He was an extremely
hard worker, loved being outdoors and watching the
Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers games from his living
room recliner. He was a faithful Christian who loved
to share Jesus with others. His humor and smile will
be missed by all that knew and loved him.
Malcom was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years,
Billie Sue, his daughter, Stephanie Moldenhauer and
his parents.
He is survived by his sister, Emma Juanett Squyres,

Hinojoza (Henry), Melissa Burda (Joe), and (Keith
Moldenhauer), his grandchildren; Shannon Burgan (Kim),

There were many "Monk-isms", but one of his favorite
sayings was, "It's gonna get better, I just don't
know when." On Thursday morning between 6:30a.m. &
9:30a.m., things got a lot better for him, as he is
now in the arms of his Savior in his final home.
