ROBERT H. MARTIN, 65, was born Sept. 13, 1931,
and was adopted along with his twin brother by Coke
and Pearl Martin. He died Jan. 10, 1997, while
living in Ranger. He attended Ranger High School
in the Class of 1949 at Ranger, TX. His wife, the
former Myrtle Eaves and their son, David Martin,
lives in Ranger. His twin brother was Richard Martin
(RHS-1949) who died in 1997 and the husband of the
late Rita Wynn Martin (RHS-1949) who died in 1983.
WIFE: MYRTLE BLANCHE EAVES MARTIN, 74, of
Ranger, died on Sept. 19, 2005, in Eastland, TX, with
burial in the Simpson Cemetery near Kokomo in Eastland
County.
Born November 10, 1930 in Staff Texas to Richard and
Ollie (Monroe) Eaves, she was a graduate of Carbon
High School and Ranger Junior College. She married
Robert H. Martin, Sr. (RHS-1949) in Eunice, NM,
in Dec. of 1951. He was in the military & they lived
in Puerto Rico and Rapid City, SD. After his discharge
they moved to Midland where he worked in the oil fields
and she worked in the medical field as a respiratory
therapist. They changed jobs to hotel management and
as a team worked for Motel 6 and lived all over Texas.
In 1995, Robert retired and they moved to Ranger.
Myrtle began working for Eastland Hospital and later
the Budget Host Inn in Eastland. Robert passed away
in 1997. She retired in 2004. She was a Methodist and
loved her two granddaughters very much and enjoyed
garage sale shopping.
She is survived by three sons, Robert Martin, Jr. of
Big Bend National Park, David Martin of Ranger, Gary
Martin of Big Bend National Park; two granddaughters,
Ollivya Martin of San Angelo and Brittany Martin of
Big Bend; three brothers, William Eaves of Midland,
Dickey Eaves of Gorman, Buddy Eaves of Brownfield;
three sisters, Coye Bird of Farmington, NM, Ruby
Cummings of Tyler, TX, Odene Savage of Gorman, TX.
