NANCY LEE PHILLIPS BRIDGE, 70, a longtime
Grandview, TX resident, died on Oct. 5, 2002
after a long battle with cancer, with burial
in Grandview.
She was the wife of Bennie Bridge, owner/operator
of grain elevators in Grandview. Nancy was a
school teacher and enthusiastic bridge player.
She was the daughter of the late Harlan W. and
Bert Coleman Phillips, longtime Ranger residents
where Harlan was a house-painter. She was born
on Feb. 21, 1932 in Ranger, TX. Nancy married
Bennie Bridge in 1956 in Weatherford, TX. They
had two children. Mrs. Bridge was a member of
the Texas State Teachers Association and received
the "Teacher of the Year" award in 1997 from the
Grandview Chamber of Commerce.
Survivors at the time of her death: husband, Bennie
Bridge of Grandview; son, David Bridge and wife,
Donna of Grandview; daughter, Becky Ferrell of
Dallas; and four grandchildren.
Nancy was a 1949 Ranger High School graduate and
attended Ranger Junior College. She also attended
Sul Ross College & graduated from Texas Christian
University in 1953.
