SEEBORNE HUDSON HIGHTOWER, 88, of
Whitney, TX, passed away Jan. 15, 2018 in Waco
after a brief illness, with burial at Hillcrest
Garden of Memory near Hillsboro.
He was born in Big Spring, TX, on Dec. 23, 1929 and
moved shortly thereafter to Hillsboro. His family
moved to Eastland County in 1933. A 1949 graduate
of Ranger High School at Ranger, TX, Hudson went
on to graduate from Ranger Jr. College in 1951. He
served in the Texas National Guard in the 49th
Armored Division in Ranger and later in Hillsboro.
In 1953, he moved to Whitney with his parents and
worked for 40 years with Texas Power & Light until
his retirement. Hudson had many friends in the Hill
County area and was well known as he was a meter
reader in several counties. He took great pride in
knowing every house and all the roads in the area.
He loved his family and friends dearly. Hudson was
a devoted son to his parents, Seeborne and Blanche
Hightower, always helping them with transportation
and providing care to his mother during her last
years.
Hudson enjoyed making model cars and had numerous
pickup trucks, hot rods, 18-wheelers, and armored
vehicles, all in miniature form. He was especially
proud of his craftsmanship and loved to share his
treasures with everyone who visited his workshop.
He was a faithful member of the Aquilla Church of
Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-
in-law, Ben Blitch.
Survivors include his sister, Dortha Bell Hightower
Blitch (RHS-1949); nieces, Nicki Beeler and husband,
Allen, and Kitzi Fulgham and husband, Pat; nephew,
Jeff Blitch and wife, Joyce; great-nieces, Jenna
Farrell, Randi McPhate, and Holly Denny; great-
nephews, Jeff Beeler, Dan Beeler, and Matt Fulgham;
cousin, Jo Nell Bryan; and faithful friend, Ladean
Hill.
