MARGUERETTE JUANICE BISHOP ADAMS, 86, passed
from this life into the arms of her Savior on
July 27, 2018, with burial in the Dallas-Fort
Worth National Cemetery.
Marguerette Juanice Adams was born in Eastland,
TX on May 24, 1932. Juanice was the youngest of
six children born to John Lee and Lillian Ruth
Bishop. Juanice attended Ranger High School in
the Class of 1949 at Ranger, TX but graduated
from Cross Plains High School in 1949. She
attended Hardin-Simmons University and later
graduated from Drahn's Business College.
She worked for Gulf Oil in Houston, TX before
marrying Tom Adams in July of 1956. Juanice was
the mother of two daughters, Carole Juanice and
Tomi Cherié. Juanice was very active in various
ministries and activities of the churches she
attended throughout her life. She served as
President of the Women's Missionary Union (WMU),
WMU missions education coordinator, and taught
Vacation Bible School and Sunday School. She was
especially gifted at leading children to know
Jesus as their Savior.
She worked as the secretary for the chief of
detectives for the Odessa Police Department
before her daughters were born, & occasionally
worked as secretary at First Baptist Church,
Andrews while a member there. She went on most
choir trips, picnics, and some contest trips
during her husband's tenure as Choral Director
at Andrews High School, becoming a much-loved
part of his student's lives. After raising two
girls, she became an award-winning displayer
for Home Interiors and Gifts, Inc.
Juanice was preceded in death by her parents Lee
and Ruth Bishop, who were married for almost
55 years before their deaths; two sisters Lillian
Lee Beamon and Nelda Myrle Sullivan; a brother,
Eugene Dale Bishop (RHS-1945); and a sister and
brother who died in infancy, Betty Joy and Charles
Kenneth Bishop.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years; her
daughter and son-in law, Carole and Perry Boyd of
Azle, TX; daughter, Cherie Williamson of Abilene,
four grandchildren, Taylor Boyd, Kelli Griffin,
and husband, Jacob, Trevor Boyd, and wife, Micaela,
and Nathan Williamson; five great-grandchildren,
Christian, Witten, & McKenna Boyd and Alexia and
Olivia Griffin; many nieces, nephews, and cousins
who were all so loved by their Aunt Ecie/Nonnie/
Juanice.
