JOHN D. ANDERSON JR., 75, a retired airport
planner, died on Sept. 29, 2006, with burial at
Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville, TX.
John was born May 13, 1931, in Bowie, TX. He attended
Ranger High School in the Class of 1950 at Ranger, TX.
He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1950 at the age of 19.
During the length of his service, he met Bobbie Helen
Burns, and they married in June of 1952. Children and
grandchildren followed and John was known to all as an
adoring husband, father and grandfather.
His deep love for all things with wheels and the
resulting extensive collection of motorcycles, cars
and motor homes carried John and his family all
over the United States, and traveling became a
cherished family activity.
John retired in 1991 from the Federal Aviation
Administration and was a member of Calvary Chapel.
Survivors at the time of his death: His wife of
54 years, Bobbie Anderson; son, John Anderson
III, both of Haltom City; sister, Nell Anderson
Dempsey (RHS-1952) of Ranger; daughter, Vici
Carpenter & husband, Monty; grandchildren, Rachel
Carpenter & Ryan Carpenter, all of North Richland
Hills; and large extended family and circle of
friends. He was the great-uncle of Kim Fisher
Grippe (RHS-1995).
