ROBERT LEE "BUDDY" HAMRICK, JR., 81, of
Brenham, TX, died on May 29, 2014, in Temple, TX,
with burial at Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham.
Buddy was born Dec. 20, 1932, in Seymour, TX, to
Robert Lee Sr. & Mamie Ruth (Langston) Hamrick. He
attended Ranger High School in the Class of 1950 at
Ranger, TX. He came to Brenham in 1974 and retired
from teaching and coaching at Blinn College in 1995.
He was proud of all his coaching accomplishments,
especially Eugene Upshaw, who is a member of the NFL
Hall of Fame. Buddy was a member of Brenham Elks
Lodge and the Graham Lodge.
Survivors at the time of his death include his children,
Robert III and Amy Hamrick, Gene and Amelia Lyons, Patti
and Rick Jones and Cynthia and Mike Neeley; nine grand-
children; 11 great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Virginia
Moulton; & special friend, Lida Jane Gillespie (RHS-1950).
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Joan
Hamrick, sister Mary Frances Hamrick Rhoads (RHS-1944)
and a great-granddaughter Abigail Eaton.
