LAURA EDITH BROWNING CAZEE, 84, passed into
paradise on Jan. 18, 2018 in New Mexico.
She was born on Aug. 13, 1933 in Desdemona, TX to
Thomas & Ruth Browning. Edith attended Ranger High
School in the Class of 1950 at Ranger, TX. She
married the love of her life, George, in 1948. They
moved to Hobbs, NM in 1954.
Edith was immersed in the Christian community from
an early age. She was an active member of Faith
Assembly of God in Hobbs, where she had many friends.
She worked at Safeway Supermarket for 20 years and
the Lea County Detention Facility Juvenile Unit for
5 years, before retiring in 1995. She was Grandmother
of the Year in 1993 with the Tumbleweed Grandmothers
Club #849. She enjoyed reading her bible and visiting
with her friends and family.
Edith will be lovingly remembered by her husband of
69 years, George, her surviving children, son George
Cazee, Jr. (Janelle), daughters Deborah Pugh (Don)
and Cynthia Malowitz (Mark). She will also be fondly
remembered by her eight grandchildren, Chad Cazee,
Brandi Adkins (Mickey), John David Pugh, Jennifer
Laura Patrick, Joel Thomas Pugh (Valerie), Kynda
Orsak (Alan), Hollie Alexander, & Jessica Baldischwiler,
and by her seven great-grandchildren, Michael, Laura,
and Allison Patrick, Mickenna and Jaxon Adkins, and
Leah and Easton Orsak.
She is also survived by sisters Tommie Ruth Browning
Norton (RHS-1946), Fern Browning Veazey (RHS-1947),
Sharon Browning Davis (RHS-1961), and brother Landon
Browning (RHS-1954) as well as her many nieces,
nephews, and friends. Others siblings were Rufus
Browning (RHS-1944) & Lynn Browning (RHS-1964).
