WANDA POCKRUS MCNABB, 74, passed away June 12,
2006, with burial at Mt. Zion Cemetery near Ranger,
TX.
Wanda was born on May 22, 1932 in Stephens County to
Hubert and Almay (Sechrist) Pockrus. She graduated
from Ranger High School & attended Ranger College,
receiving a certificate for nurse's aide. She worked
for over 30 years at Western Manor Nursing Home, Valley
View Nursing Home, and Eastland Manor Nursing Home.
She married Carson "Judge" McNabb in Oct. of 1952
and he preceded her in death on Nov. 11, 2000. She
was a member of Harmony Baptist Church, New Hope
Baptist Church and Second Baptist Church. She enjoyed
embroidering and watching old western movies and
spoiling her dogs. Her main love was her children.
At the time of her death, she was survived by two
daughters, Melba Lebredo (RHS-1972) and husband Mike
of Grand Prairie, Melinda Taylor (RHS-1977) and husband
Cheyenne of Breckenridge, two sons, Danny McNabb (RHS-
1978) and wife Clista of Eastland, and Donnie McNabb
(RHS-1984) of Breckenridge, a brother, Billy Jack
Pockrus (RHS-1960), and wife Pat of Ranger, nine
grandchildren and two great-grandchildren & several
nieces and nephews.
HUSBAND: CARSON "JUDGE" McNABB, 73, died
on Nov. 8, 2000, with burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Mr. McNabb was born in Abilene. He grew up in Stephens
County attending school in both Caddo and Breckenridge.
He married Wanda Pockrus in New Hope #3. He worked for
many years as an oilfield roustabout. He was a member
of New Hope Baptist Church.
Survivors at the time of his death include his wife,
Wanda McNabb of Ranger; four children, Melba Lebredo of
Grand Prairie, Melinda Taylor of Cisco, Danny McNabb of
Ranger and Donnie McNabb of Denver, CO; three sisters,
Cordella Truesdell of Uvalde, Verna Graham and Cindy
Bott both of Ranger; eight grandchildren; & numerous
nieces and nephews.
