DORIS MAE VANN KENT, 82, of Eastland, TX
went home to be with the Lord & her loved ones
who have gone before her Nov. 9, 2017 in Eastland.
Burial was at the Oakland Cemetery south of
Gorman off of Hwy 8.
Doris Mae Vann Kent was born Nov. 18, 1934 in
Carbon, TX to Richard "Dick" & Alma L. Murray
Vann. She graduated from Ranger High in the
Class of 1953 and Ranger College. In July of
1954, she married the man she would spend the
next 54 years with, Bert Ray Kent in Carbon,
TX. She was a housewife and mother and spend
21 years as a postal clerk with the US Postal
Service in Gorman. Doris was a member of the
Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW and was a member
of the Bethel Baptist Church in Eastland.
She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grand-
mother and great grandmother. She loved family,
family reunions, getting together with friends
and playing dominoes. Doris loved her church
family and helping out in any way she could.
Most of all Doris loved being with her husband.
She spoke often of her love for family and her
best friend Betty Barnes.
Doris was preceded in death by her loving husband
Bert Kent and a precious son Tommy Alan Kent,
her parents and a brother, Bobby Lee Vann.
She is survived by a son, Terry Ray Kent and
fiancée Ginger Angel of Merkel, daughter Dianne
Moss and husband John of Gorman, granddaughter,
Kellie Sharee Emery and husband Clint, great-
granddaughters: Willow and Jacqueline, step-
granddaughter, Shallon Neff and husband Justin
and their two children.
