LILLIAN FAYE BECK PETREE, 89, passed away
on Sept. 25, 2024, with burial at Bullock Cemetery
in Ranger, TX.
Lillian Petree was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother
and great-grandmother. She passed away peacefully,
leaving a legacy of love, faith & service. Known for
her remarkable talents as a seamstress, she crafted
beautiful dresses for her daughters and granddaughters,
ensuring that each piece was made with love and care.
Her peanut brittle was legendary, a treat that no one
could replicate, just as her canned garden vegetables
were a staple in her home. She was a faithful member
of the United Pentecostal Church of Ranger for 80+
years. Lillian taught Sunday School for many years
as well as playing the church organ. She served as
lady's leader and found great joy in working with
children during Vacation Bible School.
She found joy in playing the piano, collecting salt
dips and depression glass, playing games, & planting
flowers. While attending Ranger High School in the
Class of 1953, Lillian was a waitress at Beck's Café,
owned by her parents, Charlie & Frankie Beck. After
she married, she was employed at Montgomery Wards and
later worked for Ranger Independent School District
in the school cafeteria.
An avid reader, Lillian cherished her Bible, reading
it cover to cover every year, always deepening her
understanding and love of the Word. She & her husband,
Jack, shared a special bond, often seen working side
by side in their yard, enjoying the simple joys of
life together. Lillian loved to travel with her family,
taking many pictures, which is portrayed in the abundance
of photo albums. Her warmth, strength, and dedication
will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her spirit
will live on in the lives she touched.
Her siblings were Oliver Beck (RHS-1944), Dortha Beck
Wood (RHS-1957), Anna Beck, Glenda Beck Hart (RHS-1952),
& Jerry Beck (RHS-1950).
