PEGGY DOOLEY MILLER, 78, peacefully slipped
out of this life and on to Heaven on Feb. 2, 2014,
with at the Gunsight Cemetery, south of Breckenridge,
TX.
Peggy was born on March 30, 1935, the only child of
Chester & Frances Dooley in Ranger, TX. Upon grad-
uation at Ranger High School in the Class of 1954,
she married her high school sweetheart, Conard Dean
Miller in May of 1954. They were then stationed in
Panama and after his service, she was a supportive
wife while Conard attended Texas A&M University. They
resided in Abilene since 1972. Peggy worked in the
mortgage loan business in Abilene for over thirty
years and was an affiliate member in the Abilene
Association of Realtors. She was the treasurer for
the Professional Women in Home Building and she was
active in the scholarship fund as well. Peggy was
also active with her Ranger High School Reunion Class
of 1954 and active treasurer of the Chico Mendoza
Scholarship fund. She loved her Joy Sunday School
Class at FBC and having family gatherings with her
three daughters and her grandchildren. Peggy loved
gardening and plants and also loved family vacations
and RV'ing at the farm with Conard.
Preceding her in death were her husband & her parents.
Survivors at the time of her death include her daughters,
Cheryl Clark and husband, Ellis of Eastland, Shelly
Hampton and husband, Carlton of Brownwood, and Dina
Griffin and husband, Tim of Abilene; 7 grandchildren,
Ben Cisneros and wife, Mary, Texie Lane and husband,
Matthew, Katie Russell, Pecos Roberts, Bailey, Emma,
and Seaver Griffin; and three great-grandchildren,
Liam and Hayden Cisneros and Zoey Lane.
HUSBAND: CONARD DEAN MILLER, 77, died on
Oct. 15, 2010, with burial in the Gunsight Cemetery
south of Breckenridge, TX.
Conard was born Nov. 28, 1932 to Roy & Cecil K. Miller
in Eastland, TX where he grew up on the family farm.
Their family included eight children, Conard being
the youngest. He married his high school sweetheart
Peggy Joy Dooley (RHS-1954) in May of 1954. Conard
was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and attended Ranger
Jr. College at Ranger, TX. He was a graduate of
Texas A&M University, Class of '59. A long time
resident of Abilene, he owned and operated Miller
Appraisal Service. He was a member of TX Association
of Realtors, the Abilene Board of Realtors, the local
chapter of the Texas A&M Club, as well as a member
of the Texas Cattle Rancher's Association. His true
love was farming, ranching, fishing, & the outdoors.
He was a loving father to his three daughters, Cheryl,
Shelly, and Dina.
Preceding him in death are his parents; three sisters,
Dixie Blackburn, Pauline Dye, Callie Harbin; and a
brother Morris Miller.
Survivors include his wife Peggy; daughters, Cheryl
Clark and husband Ellis of Eastland, Shelly Hampton
and husband Carlton of Brownwood, Dina Griffin and
husband Tim of Abilene; three sisters, Florence
Callerman of California, Geneve Burns of Oklahoma
and Jerry Petty of Waco, TX; seven grandchildren,
Ben and wife Mary, Texie & husband Matthew, Katie,
Pecos, Bailey, Emma and Seaver; two great-grand-
children, Liam and Zoey.
