SHIRLEY DARLENE CRABB FIELDS, 73, died
on April 13, 2011 in Los Angeles, CA.
She was born to James Howard & Lee Ola Young Crabb
on Jan. 7, 1938 in Ranger, TX. Darlene graduated
from Ranger High School in 1955 and attended Ranger
Junior College in 1956. She and her husband, Jim
Fields, lived in Big Springs, TX where she served
as pianist for First Baptist Church Sand Springs.
They later moved to Odessa, TX, where she was the
pianist for Westside Baptist Church and Jim was
the Pastor. After Odessa, some years were spent
in Saudi Arabia where both worked for ARAMCO.
Midland, TX then became home where Darlene worked
30 years for Chevron and was pianist for Cotton
Flat Baptist Church where Jim was the pastor. She
also cared for her mother, Lee Ola Crabb, who
resided in a nursing home there. After she retired
from Chevron, they moved to Las Vegas, NV, where
she cared for her great-granddaughter from 2003
to 2008.
Preceding Darlene was son, Randy Fields, grandson,
Rusty Pendleton and nephew, Kelly Delany. She is
survived by her husband of 55 years James Wayne
Fields of Las Vegas, NV; daughter Rhonda Sikes
and son-in-law Palmer Sikes of Las Vegas; grandson
Jakob Sikes of Las Vegas; granddaughter Jennifer
Pendleton and great-granddaughter Kylee Edwards of
San Diego; sister Barbara Crabb Delany (RHS-1960);
nieces Shanna Delany and Tracey Spurgeon; great-
niece Kiersten Delany Ezell & great-nephews Brody
Spurgeon and Kavan Spurgeon of San Antonio TX;
and numerous cousins and family in Texas and
California.
HUSBAND: JAMES WAYNE "JIM" FIELDS died
in July of 2012. There were three surviving sisters
of a large family.
