BILLYE MAE FOX GRIFFITTS WILKERSON, 81,
was born Dec. 6, 1936 in Ranger, TX to Tom L. & Delfa
Pitman Fox. She attended Ranger High School in the
Class of 1955. She died Aug. 22, 2018 in Granbury,
TX, with burial in the Texas State Veterans Cemetery

Billye married Jerry Griffitts after attending Abilene
Christian University. He entered the US Navy and became
a pilot. They had three children Mark, Dion, and David.
Jerry died in a helicopter crash in California in 1968.
Billye returned her family to Abilene where she met and
married Wyman Wilkerson in 1969. Wyman had recently lost
his wife Clarice to illness. Billye became the mother of
Wyman's two children Sherry and Kyle, and they started
a new life together. They lived most of their life in &
around the Abilene area attending the Highland Church
of Christ, the Merkel Church of Christ, & the Hillcrest
Church of Christ. Billye was a great homemaker and was
known most of her life as Mom or Nana. She loved taking
of her kids and spending time with her grandkids.
Billye and Wyman loved the Lord and trusted him. They
had a wonderful life together and learned to deal with
loss in greater measures than most. Their example of
gracefully accepting life and living on God's strength
was an amazing example to their family and friends.
