JACQUELINE "JACKIE" LENORA BOWEN HOOKS BUSH,
84 of Ranger, TX passed away June 11, 2022.
Jackie was born Dec. 20, 1937 in Ranger. She attended
Ranger High School in the Class of 1956 and married
Alford Bush in June of 1961. He preceded her in death
in 2014. She was also preceded in death by her mother,
Una Beck; and grandparents, Oliver and Pearl Bowen.
She was an LVN for many years, then secretary & Chief
Clerk for the Justice of the Peace office. She was a
homemaker and a Baptist.
Survivors include 3 sons, Donald Lloyd Hooks (RHS-1975)
of Stanton, Ronald Floyd Hooks (RHS-1976) of Ranger,
and Ronnie Alvin Bush (RHS-1996) and wife Tiffany of
Ranger; a daughter, Elaine Hale of Eastland; and many
grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-
grandchildren.
MOTHER: UNA ONEIDA BOWEN BECK went home to be with
the Lord on Jan. 2, 2014 at the age of 95 years young,
with burial at the Evergreen Cemetery in Ranger, TX.
Una was born Oct. 24, 1918 in Leander, TX to Oliver &
Pearlie Mae Mills Bowen. She attended school in Colony.
While Una did work outside the home from time to time,
she considered herself a Homemaker first. She worked for
approximately 6 years for the Green Thumb organization.
Una loved to stay busy. She was an accomplished quilter
and loved to do crafts. She was a member of the First
Baptist Church in Ranger.
Una is preceded in death by her parents, 2 husbands:
Louis James Duncan and Arthur Samuel Beck, 4 sisters:
Verble Lee Bowen, Lela Mae Isabell, Dorothy Joyce
Seymour Carr, & Pauline Laverne Breneman.
She is survived by one daughter Jackie Bush (RHS-1956)
and Jackie’s husband Alford, four grandchildren: Donald
Hooks, Ronald Hooks, Elaine Hale, and Ronnie Bush and
his wife Tiffany. She is also survived by numerous great-
grandchildren, great–great-grandchildren and numerous
nieces & nephews.
