JAMES KENNETH GRICE, 65, passed away on Dec. 2,
2004, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery at Ranger,
TX.
Mr. Grice was born on April 17, 1939 in Ranger to
James Truitt & Velma Marie (Edwards) Grice. He
attended Ranger High School in the Class of 1957
and married Bettie Sue Currie in Feb. of 1966 in
Mexico. He had worked as an oilfield driller and
tool pusher, worked in real estate sales, and owned
and operated Ranger Oilfield Construction, Ancient
Mariner Steak & Seafood Restaurant and House of Color
Paint Store. He was a member of the Mesquite & Rusk
Street Church of Christ.
At the time of his death, he was survived by wife Sue
Grice of Ranger, children Johnny Kirk Grice & wife Ina
of Early, Steven W. Ashworth (RHS-1978) & wife Kimmie
Booth (RHS-1976) of Gordon, & Lesa K. Herod & husband
Steven R. Herod of Ranger, grandchildren Dustin Grice
& Shasta Burleson, Robin Tice (RHS-1997), Leah, Reagan,
& Evan Herod, & MacDaniel & Nick Ashworth, great-grand-
child Jared Wryan Burleson, brothers Donny Cozart (RHS-
1953) of Dallas, Dale Cozart (RHS-1958) and wife Carol
Phillips (RHS-1960) of Cisco, and Delbert Cozart (RHS-
1970) & wife Patty of Little Elm, sisters Billie Jean
Rogers (RHS-1963) and husband Rick of Ranger, Ellen
Kanaday (RHS-1966) & husband Ray of Carbon, Loretta
Pelfrey (RHS-1973) of Stephenville, and Norma McDonald
(RHS-1977) & husband James of Breckenridge. He is also
survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother Velma Edwards
Cozart, father Truett Grice, & daughters Sandra Lynn
Grice & Janice Karlene Grice.
