EDNA LEONA PRUITT DAVENPORT, 77 of Alvin, TX, went
home to be with the Lord with family by her side on
April 5, 2017, with interment at Oak Park Cemetery in
Alvin.
Leona was born Nov. 8, 1939 in Ft. Worth, TX and was
longtime resident of Alvin. She attended Ranger High
School at Ranger, TX in the Class of 1958.
Leona was preceded in death by her mother, Deah Suddeth
(RHS-1933); father, Benjamin Pruitt; brother, Benjamin
Pruitt Jr.
Leona is survived by her loving husband, Henry Davenport
(RHS-1951); daughters, Anita Marty and husband Wes, Linda
Sanders and husband John; son, James Davenport and wife
Chris; grandchildren, Mark Davenport, Melissa Drago, Jeff
Sanders, Laura Fowler, Ashley Moore, Justin Moore, Jamie
Ewald, Leah Davenport, Christian Davenport and Jason
Davenport; 9 great-grandchildren; along with numerous
other relatives and friends.
Leona was a loving Christian, wife, mother, grand/great
grandmother. She was a member and worshiped at the Adoue
Church of Christ in Alvin where singing was greatly enjoyed.
Leona enjoyed a career working for the Pearland School
District as a youth counselor. She cherished spending
time with her family and friends.
