JACKIE RICHARD WILLIAMS, 59, died at his home in
July of 1997, with interment at Alameda Cemetery
near Ranger, TX.
Mr. Williams attended school in Ranger and served
with the U.S. Army during the Berlin Wall Crisis.
He returned to Ranger in 1960 and worked for Dr
Pepper for many years. He was a distributor for
the Abilene Reporter-News for seven years and also
was a clerk for Montgomery Ward. He was a volunteer
firefighter and was a member of Ranger Jaycees and
Eastside Baptist Church. His wife was Jimmie Stroud
(RHS-1960) of Ranger. They had three children, Karrol
Williams (RHS-1979) and Kamelia Williams (RHS-1984),
both of Ranger, and Richard Williams (RHS-1970) of
Clifton; one foster daughter, Chris Torrez of Idalou;
one brother, Johnny Williams (RHS-1967) of Ranger;
one sister, Amelia Tucker of Tyler; and seven grand-
children.
