MELVIN LYNN ANDERSON, 52, died at his home in Moran,
TX after a brief illness in 1995, with interment
in the Moran Cemetery.
He was born in Gorman, TX and graduated from
Ranger High School in 1961 at Ranger, TX. He
attended Ranger Jr. College & Arlington State
University (UTA). In 1963, he married Sunny
Rawson in Cisco, TX and worked in Ranger and
Wichita Falls oil fields. He moved to Albany,
TX in 1969 and started Welco Inc. in 1970. He
married Lois Tucker in 1992 in Moran, TX and
was a Baptist. Mr. Anderson had two sons and
one daughter.
MOTHER: DOROTHY GARLITZ ANDERSON, 98, went
to be with her Lord on July 8, 2019, with burial
in the Moran Cemetery.
Dorothy was born on May 29, 1921 in Moran, TX
to Herman Garlitz & Maudie Brown Garlitz. She
married Max Anderson in Oct. of 1938 in Dallas.
Dorothy was a bookkeeper for Anderson Dozer and
Montgomery Ward. She enjoyed oil painting,
sewing, cooking, dancing, and traveling, and
she was a member of Covenant Love Church. When
Melvin & Jeralyn were in school, their home was
always open to kids.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband,
son, Melvin Anderson (RHS-1961), four brothers,
and 4 sisters.
Survivors include her daughter, Jeralyn Anderson
Sledge (RHS-1963) of Ranger; sister, Louise
Shelton of Albany; four grandchildren; and eight
great-grandchildren.
