RONNY "CURLY" WAYNE ROSS, 67, passed
away Nov. 27, 2010 at his residence surrounded
by his loving family. He was buried at DFW
National Cemetery with a police escort and
military honors. Curly was a graduate of
Ranger High School in the Class of 1961 and
attended Ranger Jr. College at Ranger, TX.
Mr. Ross was born March 11, 1943 to William McClain
and Pauline Liza Ross in Dublin, TX. He served in
the Dallas Police Department for 30 years & retired
at the rank of Sergeant. He was a helicopter pilot
in the Vietnam War and received a Bronze Star for
his service in the Army. After retiring in 2002,
he moved to Blooming Grove, TX with his wife
Barbara. He became a very active member in First
Baptist Church of Blooming Grove and was loved and
admired by all who knew him. He gave of himself to
everyone in need. He was a very selfless individual.
He was preceded in death by his parents. At the time
of his death, he was survived by his wife, Barbara;
his son, Randy Ross; daughter Rhonda & husband, Matt
Welch; grandsons, Will and Cade Welch; sister, Betty
Yvonne Ross Maynard (RHS-1956); niece, Debbie Slaton;
and mother-in-law, Mildred Kribbs (RHS-1937). Curly
is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and
a host of friends.
