BARBARA LOUISE VANDERGRIFF MCKINLEY, 69, of Ranger,
TX, died on Nov. 26, 2012, with interment was at the
Bullock Cemetery near Ranger.
She was born in Sherman, TX, on Dec. 30, 1942. She
was the daughter of Ozell Vandergriff & the late Roy
Vandergriff. Barbara was educated in the Ranger public
schools, graduated from Ranger High School in 1961, and
later attended a business college in Dallas, TX. In
1983, she married Les McKinley in Dallas. For the past
several years Barbara was employed in the administration
offices of Eastland Memorial Hospital, Eastland, TX. She
was active in her church and served on the worship team.
She was a past president of the Ladies Auxiliary at the
First Pentecostal Church in Ranger. Barbara attended the
RHS 50th Anniversary Reunion in 2010.
She leaves her beloved husband, Les McKinley, her sister
Maxine Kendrick (RHS-1958), and mother Ozell Vandergriff.
She also leaves several nieces, nephews and cousins whom
she loved dearly. She was very close to her family.
MOTHER: OZELL B. VANDERGRIFF, 100, a resident of Ranger
since 1949, died on Jan. 12, 2013 at her home in
Ranger, with burial in Bullock Cemetery near Ranger,
TX.
Born on October 11, 1912 in rural Stephens County,
she married Roy D. Vandergriff in Nov. of 1935,
in Durant, OK. Mother of daughters Maxine & Barbara.
They were all members of the First United Pentecostal
Church of Ranger.
Survivors include daughter Maxine Kendrick of Ranger;
grandchildren Jeannie Ramirez of Little Elm, TX, and
Lochwood Larson of Richardson, TX, great-grandchildren
Mia and Whitney Ramirez, several nieces and nephews,
all of whom she dearly loved.
