RACHEL RANDA ROHDE RIFFE, 76, of Paige, TX died
on Dec. 11, 2018, with burial there in Ridgeway
Cemetery.
Rachel was born on Dec. 1, 1942 in Paige, TX to
Willie Gustav & Dorothy Adeline Korff Rohde. She
was in the graduating class of 1961 from Ranger
High School at Ranger, TX. Rachel married David
Riffe in Jan. of 1961. She retired from the Texas
Department of Public Safety as an Administrator
of AFIS in 1997. She was a member of the Paige
United Methodist Church, Paige Lions Club, Paige
Community Center, Bastrop EEC, Daughters of the
Confederacy, Bastrop Reading Circle, and served
as the support leader in the Paige Volunteer Fire
Department.
Rachel's favorite thing was to spend time with her
grandchildren and great-grandchildren. You could
always find her in the kitchen cooking and baking,
as she was known for her biscuits. She enjoyed
collecting bears, crocheting, fishing, traveling
all over the world, reading, writing, sewing,
gardening (especially taking care of African
Violets), attending Blue Grass music festivals,
and the companionship of her pets. She was always
willing to help everyone and always made you feel
at home.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Willie &
Dorothy Rohde.
She is survived by her husband David Riffe of Paige;
three sons, William J. Riffe and wife Christine of
Paige, Marc W. Riffe of Paige and Paul Arron Riffe
of Austin; three grandchildren, Cameron Riffe of
Austin, Paul Anthony Riffe of Austin, and Lauren
Lapenna of Austin; one sister, Adeline Mignon Rohde
Slaton (RHS-1959) and husband Don of Roans Prairie;
niece, Vida Slaton of Singleton, and her nephew,
Todd Slaton of Pearland.
