LLOYD D. CAPPS, 72, passed away June 14, 2016 at
his residence in Breckenridge, TX, with interment
in Post Oak Cemetery.
Lloyd David Capps was born Jan. 10, 1944 in Ranger,
TX to Delbert D. Capps (RHS-1930) and Ida Maxine
McClenney. Delbert operated the Capps Photography
Studio in Ranger for many years. Lloyd graduated
from Ranger High School in the Class of 1962. He
married Mary S. Allison in Aug. of 1965 at Abilene.
Mr. Capps had worked in the grocery business in
Abilene & Breckenridge, before beginning a career
with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice that
spanned 15 years, until his retirement. Lloyd was
also a master carpenter, and member of the First
Baptist Church. He enjoyed photography, model air-
planes, and watching the Texas Rangers, Dallas
Cowboys, all college football, & fast pitch softball.
He was preceded in death by his parents & an infant
son.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Capps of Breckenridge;
daughters, Melinda Stalcup and husband, Ty and Tamara
Boone and husband, Phillip all of Breckenridge; son,
Scott Capps and wife, Loretta of Elk City, OK; grand-
children, Justin, Ashley, Jennifer, James "J.P.", and
Derek Capps, Phillip "P.J." Gilley Jr., Haylee Hight,
Joseph and Madison Stalcup, and Timmothy, Cheyenne,
and Bethany Boone; and 4 great-grandchildren.
