EDWARD DOUGLASS NEEDHAM, 55, passed away Oct. 25,
2005 in Pipe Creek, TX.
He was born on June 22, 1950, to Robert Burnice Needham
and Patty Nell Douglass Needham in Ranger, TX. Doug grew
up in Ranger & graduated from Ranger High School. He went
to Ranger Jr. College, and then on to Texas A&M, where
he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Plant
and Soil Science in 1972. In high school, he played
football and baseball, and participated in FFA. In 1969,
he married, and had a son, Robert David Needham (Robby),
in 1970. After graduating from A&M, Doug went to work in
the printing industry. During his twenty years in printing,
he owned and operated a weekly newspaper with his brother
Jimmy in Hempstead, TX. He then attended a school for
computer programming, and began another career for the next
15 years. He lived in Ranger, College Station, Hempstead,
Houston, Sugar Land, San Antonio, and Pipe Creek, Texas.
In 1985, he married Christiana Alyce Wetzel, and had two
children, Christiana Lee & Chloe Amanda.
Doug is survived by his wife and daughters of Pipe Creek;
his son Robert David; his grandchildren, Holly Michelle
and Mitchel Douglass; one sister & brother-in-law, Robert
and Dorthy Needham Watson (RHS-1957) of Baird; his brother
and sister-in-law, Jimmy (RHS-1960) & Doris Needham of
Hempstead; and two other brothers, Roger Needham & Alvin
Thames.
