LUPE GOMEZ, 54, passed from this life on March 14,
2013, in Ft. Worth, TX, with burial at Evergreen
Cemetery in Ranger, TX.
She was born on Jan. 7, 1959, to Manuel and Pauline
“Mendez” Gomez at Ranger, TX. She attended school at
Ranger in the Class of 1977/1978 and worked at the
Ranger Hill Café for a number of years. She was a
homemaker and devoted Mother.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother,
Joe Gomez.
Survivors include her companion, Dean Weldon; three
sons: Thomas Hopkins of Mineral Wells, Robert Green of
Lubbock and Manuel Green of Oklahoma; two daughters:
Christina Hopkins of Houston & Sandra McCoy of Oklahoma;
one brother: Manuel Gomez (RHS-1967) of Arkansas; five
sisters: Joyce Stowe, Alla Ray Gomez Harper & Lucille
Gomez Pewett (RHS-1974), all of Oklahoma, Anita Wells
of Weatherford and Lisa Wells of Ft. Worth; 12 grand-
children and a host of other relatives.
SISTER: JOYCE GOMEZ STOWE, 61, Mangum, OK,
passed away on March 30, 2013, with burial was at
Riverside Cemetery in Mangum.
Joyce Gomez was born on July 22, 1951 in Ranger, TX to
Manuel and Pauline (Mendez) Gomez. She married Billy
Stowe in 2012 at Mangum. Joyce was a member of the
Living Water Pentecostal Church. She was a devoted
wife, mother and caregiver. She loved her family,
church and caring for any and all that needed her.
Her parents, a brother, Joe Gomez, a sister, Lupe
Gomez (RHS-1978), and a daughter-in-law, Lynette Stowe,
preceded her in death.
Survivors at the time of her death include her husband,
Billy, of the home; three daughters, Drena Irons and
husband, Steven, of Norman, OK, Pauline Shelton and
husband, Donald, of Norman, OK, and Lisa Stowe of
Mangum, OK; four sons, Johnny Stowe and wife, Dorothy,
of Mangum, OK, Billy Stowe and wife, Anne-Marie, of
Weatherford, TX, Tim Tallent and Michael Stowe, both
of Mangum, OK; numerous grandchildren and great-grand-
children; three sisters, Alla Ray Harper and husband,
Cletus, of Mangum, OK, Lucielle Pewett of Altus, OK,
and Anita Wells of Weatherford, TX; a brother, Manuel
Gomez (RHS-1967) and wife, Connie, of Arkansas; a
cherished daughter-in-law, Lynette Stowe; and several
other family and friends.
SISTER: ALLA RAY GOMEZ HARPER, 67 of
Eastland, TX and former resident of Mangum, OK passed
away in Eastland on Aug. 1, 2016, with burial at
Evergreen Cemetery in Ranger, TX.
She is preceded in death by her parents Manuel C. &
Pauline Gomez; son Theo Hawkins; two sisters Joyce
Gomez Stowe and Lupe Gomez Green (RHS-1978); and one
brother, Joe Gomez.
She is survived by husband, James Cleatus Harper of
Eastland, TX; four daughters Shirley Thomas and
husband Richie of Mead, OK, Cleta Brown of Mangum,
OK, Delcina Bowman and husband Keith of Eastland, TX,
and Sharon Harper Mendoza of Breckenridge, TX; two
sons, James (Cinch) Harper of Breckenridge, TX and
Chris Harper and wife Kathy of Mangum, OK; three
sisters, Anita Wells of Eastland, TX, Lisa Wells of
Eastland, TX, and Lucille Prewitt of Altus, OK; one
brother, Manuel Gomez (RHS-1967) and wife Connie of
Batesville, AR; 18 grandchildren; 4 great-grand-
children; and many nieces and nephews.
