ALLAN B. AKENS, 53, had a lifetime of service
that started on Dec. 1, 1961, ended Oct. 4, 2015
in Waxahachie, TX. Allan B to his grandmother Boo-
Boo, Uncle Allan to eleven nephews and nieces,
the Boss to some and friend to a lot of people,
passed from this life. Interment was in the
Waxahachie City Cemetery.
Born in Abilene, he lived his life serving others
through the funeral industry. This ministry helped
many people in their most vulnerable times, and he
did it to his utmost, both personally & professionally.
Allan graduated from Ranger High School at Ranger, TX
in 1980 and the Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science
in 1984. He started his service at Bluebonnet Hills
Funeral Home and served at many others throughout the
area, including homes in Waco and Temple. The number
of family's lives he touched is at least in the hundreds
and maybe thousands.
Allan is survived by the love of his life, Linnea and
his "Cowboy sidekick" Parker; three sisters, Annette
Akens (RHS-1977, Eric) Miller, Karen Akens (RHS-1978,
Glenn) Thomson, and Naomi Akens (RHS-1992, Thomas)
Clements & aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces & friends
too numerous to count.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and
Shirley Akens.
