RICHARD DALE WALKER, 53 of Abilene, TX
and formerly of Ranger, TX passed away Oct. 11,
2021, with burial in the Merriman Cemetery.
Richard was born in Ranger on Oct. 23, 1967 to
Robert James Walker & Gladys Johnston Walker.
He graduated from Ranger High School in the
Class of 1986. He married Carla Chatham (RHS-
1994) in Nov. of 1992 in Ranger. He was an
X-ray Technician/RSO for Precision. Richard
enjoyed going on cruises, playing on his
tractor, & especially spending time with his
grandkids.
He was preceded in death by a son, Colt Walker
on Jan. 15, 1993.
Survivors include his parents, Bob and Gladys
Walker; his wife, Carla Walker; 2 sons, Robert
Walker and girlfriend Katie Freeman, and Jeremy
Walker (RHS-2013); a daughter, Erica Simmons and
husband Daniel; 5 sisters, Weslanna Walker Young
(RHS-1978), Alice Walker Krantz (RHS-1980), Irene
Walker Patterson (RHS-1982) and husband Tony,
Susie Walker Sutton (RHS-1988) & husband Jason,
and Sarah Walker Sherrill (RHS-1994) and husband
John; 5 grandchildren, Jayden, Wyatt, Rhett, Riley,
and Cameron; mother-in-law, Selina Reed; 3 brother-
in-law's, Buster Chatham and wife Dawn; Junior
Boner and wife Jackie; and Greg Tedford and wife
Amber; and 2 sister-in-law?s, Brandy Ritchey;
Bobby Wilhelm and husband Scotty.
FATHER: ROBERT JAMES WALKER was born
in Oplin, TX on May 23,1937 to William Oscar Walker
& Alice Belle Walker, with burial at Merriam Cemetery
near Ranger, TX.
He married Gladys Johnston in Dec. of 1958. Robert
served in the national guard from 1954-1959. Robert
was a family man graced with patience compassion
and love. He worked several jobs over his life time
from Cotton picker to the Highway Department, a
diesel mechanic for Robinson diesel on to driving
a bulldozer and heavy equipment for Bob Carroll
Construction for many years until his retirement.
His favorite job by far was being a husband, father,
grandfather, and great grandfather, oh how he loved
his babies. He was a very talented wood worker that
could make anything if he had a picture of it. In
his last years he started doing diamond paintings
and donating them to silent auctions in Eastland
County. He was a man of his word and would give
whatever he had if someone needed it. He loved
fully and unconditionally. If you were a part of
his life his circle his family you were always
apart of him and he knew you and spoke to you
whenever he saw you.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, 4 sisters
4 brothers his son Richard Walker and 2 grandsons.
He is survived by his wife Gladys Johnston Walker
of Cisco, his children Weslanna Young Denton, Alice
Krantz of Cisco, Irene Patterson (Tony) of San Angelo,
Susie Sutton (Jason) Christoval Tx, Sarah Sherrill
(John) of Cisco, bonus daughter Carla Walker of
Abilene, 15 grandchildren & 24 great-grandchildren.
