MARK JERRY OLGUIN, 19, of Ranger, TX died of
injuries sustained in an accident on Nov. 12, 2008 at
a Fort Worth hospital, with burial at Belen, NM.
Mark was born on May 4, 1989 in Farmington, NM. Mark
attended school in New Mexico and later moved to Ranger,
TX where he was a 2007 Ranger High School graduate.
He had attended the University of New Mexico Valencia
Campus. While in high school he was very active in
football and drama and was an academic honor student.
Mark never met a stranger, everywhere he went, whether
it was Texas, New Mexico, and even Boston, he made
friends. Mark was a giving person, always considerate,
honest and loved by all who knew him. He attended
Leon River Cowboy Church and was employed at Auto
Zone in Eastland.
Mark was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather
Jose Chavez.
Mark is survived by his parents; Diane and Brett Riggs
of Ranger; a sister, Kaitlin Olguin of Ranger; biological
father, Mark G. Olguin; step-brothers, Garrett and Colton
Riggs of Mineral Wells; maternal grandparents, Frank and
Betty Saiz of Los Lunas, NM; paternal grandfather, Jerry
Olguin of Los Lunas, NM; step-grandparents, Robert and
Becky Riggs of Mineral Wells; step-great-grandmother,
Lucille “Granny” Fitzgerald of Weatherford; uncles, Mike,
Gerald & Russell Chavez, Doug Connor; step-uncles, Bryan,
Blake, Robert, and Brian Keith Riggs, and Keith Pope;
aunts, Elaine Connor, Mary Ann Chavez, Judy Saiz and
JoAnn Chavez; step-aunts, Jennifer Pope, Michelle and
Cindy Riggs; and a host of cousins and friends.
