Monday morning will see 50 junior high school students
promoted into high school, 53 students at Hodges Oak
Park and 32 pupils at Young School going from the fifth
to sixth grade in graduation services in the high school
auditorium.
Junior high school students will graduate, following
elementary promotional exercises which get underway at
10 a.m. All junior high students making a 90 or above
in any subject for the year will be recognized by teachers
in the services.
Principal Charlie Garrett will hand out the diplomas.
Playing the processional will be Glenda Wilson, an eighth
grader. The invocation and benediction will be given by
students.
Announcements will be made by G.B. Rush, superintendent. The
class song will be directed by Miss Nichols, accompanied by
Celeste Scott. Catherine Stroud will play the processional
and Jan Watkins, the recessional. Rev. Jack Barker, pastor
of the First Christian Church will give the benediction.
