J.C. STEWART, born Aug. 18, 1928 in Tulia, TX, passed
away on Aug. 15, 2004. After serving 3 years in the U.S.
Air Force, J.C. entered Texas A&M and graduated in 1953 with
a degree in electrical engineering. He worked for Western
Electric, AT&T, & Lucent Technologies. He was the engineering
manager for the Dallas Works in Mesquite. Upon retirement he
founded Competitive Communications Systems, Inc., a telephone
installation company. J.C. served as Life Member President of
the Telephone Pioneers & volunteered for its numerous programs
to aid society's neediest.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joyce; daughter Melissa
Quast and her husband Jerry of Denton; two sons, Mark Stewart of
Memphis, Tenn. and Brian Stewart and his wife Debra of Omaha,
NE.; his eleven grandchildren, Marnie Ketchum and her husband
Kevin of Austin; Justin, Jashley, Jabrielle, Joshua, Jarett and
Jacob Quast of Denton; Jillian Ragsdale and her husband Jonathan
of Keller; Kyle, Kevin and Kory Stewart of Omaha, NE.; two great-
granddaughters, Emma Ketchum of Austin and Jaci Quast of Denton.
