CATHERINE HALL GOLEMON, 91, of Peoria, IL, formerly
of Texas, passed away Oct. 5, 2015, at her home.
Catherine was born on Feb. 8, 1924, in Nacogdoches,
TX, to Lynn T. & Patti Lee (Hall) Blake. She married
Robert "Bruce" Golemon (RJC) in April of 1943, in
Texas and he preceded her in death in 1986.
Also preceding her in death were her parents, four
siblings and one daughter, Bobbie Claire Golemon.
Surviving are her children, Patricia Lynn (Peter
Williamson) Golemon of Houston, TX, & Thomas Bruce
(RHS-1968)(Joan) Golemon of Brimfield, IL; her
grandchildren, Anna Garrett, Allison Skinner, Buck
(Alanna) Golemon and Joe, Luke, Austin, Hayden and
Katie Golemon; five great-grandchildren; five great-
great-grandchildren; and one brother, Roy Blake of
Nacogdoches, TX.
Catherine taught first grade and kindergarten for
50 years in Texas including Ranger ISD. Once she
retired & moved to the Peoria area, she volunteered
at St. Mary's School in Kickapoo.
Catherine was a member of the Texas State Teacher's
Association & the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She also was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church
in Peoria.
Her great accomplishment was being a mother & grand-
mother.
HUSBAND: DR. ROBERT BRUCE GOLEMON, 65, died Jan. 28,
1987 in Ranger, TX, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery at
Ranger. He was born on June 8, 1921 in Arkansas to Jesse
& Viola Heaberlin Golemon. He attended the University
of Texas at Austin. Bruce married Catherine Hall, a
Ranger ISD teacher, and they had a daughter, Bobbie
Claire Golemon who died in 1990. He was a Dean at
Ranger Jr. College. Their new library is named in his
honor. He was a charter member & president in 1979 of
the Texas Community College Instruction Association. His
siblings were J.V. Golemon, Floyd Golemon, Bessie Golemon,
& Violet Golemon.
