DEE WAYNE RODGERS, 94, died Nov. 25, 2002
in Llano, TX, with burial was at Alameda Cemetery
near Ranger, TX.
Mr. Rodgers was born on January 25, 1908 in Erath
County, TX, to Charles & Melinda (Childers) Rodgers.
He married Agnes L. Weekes in January of 1932 in
Ranger. She preceded him in death on Dec. 7, 2000.
Mr. Rodgers was a farmer most of his life, but
sometimes had to work outside the farm. He worked
in the oil field in West Texas for a while and was
a burner at the Featherlite plant in Ranger for
several years. He was a longtime member of the
Mesquite & Rusk Street Church of Christ in Ranger
until moving to Marble Falls, where he became a
member of the Marble Falls Church of Christ.
Survivors at the time of his death include his
daughter, Janet Graves and husband Don of Marble
Falls; one brother, Pete Rodgers of Eastland; one
sister, Linnie Jayne Rogers of Ranger; one sister-
in-law, Eunice Love of Gorman; grandchildren, Mark
Graves & wife Melissa of San Marcos, Cheryl McDuffie
and husband Shawn of Magnolia, TX, Jana Graves of
Austin, Amy Hoven and husband Chuck of Monroeville,
Alabama; six great-grandchildren; & several nieces
and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Leon in 1998
and Donald in 2000.
SISTER: LINNIE JAYNE RODGERS ROGERS, 89,
of Ranger, TX passed away on May 28, 2004 in Ranger,
with burial in Alameda Cemetery near Ranger, TX.
Mrs. Rogers was born on Nov. 5, 1914 near Proctor,
TX to Charles Montgomery & May (Childers) Rodgers.
She attended the Alameda School and married Alvin
Rogers in 1941 at Ranger. She was a housewife,
mother, and also worked for the Green Thumb Organ-
ization. She was a longtime member of the Second
Baptist Church where she was Church Clerk for ten
years.
Mrs. Rogers is survived by her son, Alfred Rogers
(RHS-1960) of Austin; brother, Pete (W.R.) Rodgers
of Eastland; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband,
and siblings, Bessie Foreman, Clyde Rodgers, Marzie
High, Florence Yancey, Winnie Yardley, Lee Roy
Rodgers, Dot Russell, and Dee Rodgers.
