KENNETH EUGENE PARRACK, 75, of Ranger,
TX and formerly of Garber, OK, was the son of
Harley E. & Mary J. (Moore) Parrack. He was
born Feb. 14, 1929 in Garber, OK, and died on
July 6, 2004 at his home, with burial at the
Garber Cemetery in Garber, OK.
At a young age, Kenneth moved to Missouri where
he attended school. In 1945, he enlisted in the
U.S. Marines and served in the military until 1948.
After his honorable discharge from military service,
Kenneth returned to Garber to complete his high
school education.
After graduating in 1950, he married Anne Hayes
and enrolled at Oklahoma A&M, now Oklahoma State
University. He received his Bachelor of Science
degree in accounting in 1954.
After graduating from college, Kenneth moved to
Tulsa, Oklahoma where he was employed until he
accepted employment as a controller for J.L.
Williams Company in Dallas.
Kenneth had an entrepreneur's spirit. He had
owned and operated a miniature golf course, an
earthworm farm, a restaurant, a convenience store
and Bubba's Liquor Store.
At the time of his death, he owned and operated
a bookkeeping and tax service in Ranger where he
was still actively serving his clients.
He served the citizens of Ranger three terms as
Finance Chairman and two terms as Mayor on the
City Commission. He also had served as president
of the Kiwanis Club and worked with the Chamber
of Commerce.
His parents and one granddaughter preceded him
in death.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Anne; three
children, Frank Parrack and his wife Paula of
Garland, Nakita Parrack of Ranger & Bill Parrack
of Plano; three grandchildren, Kyle Parrack and
Leslie and Kathryn Sager and her husband Cameron,
all of Garland, and Jessie Anne Marie Parrack;
and one great-grandchild, Alyson Parrack, of
Garland.
