WILLIAM OLIVER WESLEY, 96, a rancher, died on
Jan. 3, 2006, in Stephens County, with burial at
Necessity Cemetery in Stephens County, TX.
Mr. Wesley was born Jan. 5, 1909, in Bandera County
to Herbert H. & Lena L. Counts Wesley. Oliver was a
graduate of Caddo High School. He married Thelma
Evelyn Jackson in Feb. of 1935, in Ranger. He worked
as a rancher all of his life.
Oliver was preceded in death by three sons, Mack in
1979 and Earl and Jim in 1998; and a granddaughter,
Susan Yvonne Wesley, in 1962.
Survivors: his wife of 70 years, Thelma Wesley of
Ranger; sons, Dave Wesley of Ranger, Jack Wesley of
Granbury and Joe Wesley of Ranger; daughter, Mary
"Sis" Mathis of Ranger; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-
grandchildren; brother, Alden Wesley of Breckenridge;
and several nieces and nephews.
WIFE: THELMA "MA" WESLEY, 103 of Ranger, TX
passed away Oct. 16, 2016 at her home, with interment
at Necessity Cemetery.
Mrs. Wesley was born Oct. 5, 1913 in Stephens County
to Collier Clifton Jackson & Meade Evelyn (Stanford)
Jackson. She married Oliver Wesley in Feb. 1935 in
Ranger. She was a homemaker. While in high school she
enjoyed playing basketball. Later in life she played
softball. She loved her dog and especially spending
time with her family.
Mrs. Wesley was preceded in death by her husband Oliver
on Jan. 3, 2006; three sons, Mack Wesley in 1979, and
Earl Wesley & Jim Wesley in 1998. She was also preceded
in death by a granddaughter, Susan Yvonne Wesley in 1962.
Her sister was Eddie Jackson Hayes (RHS-1951).
Survivors include three sons, Dave Wesley of Ranger,
Jack Wesley of Granbury, and Joe Wesley of Ranger; one
daughter, Mary “Sis” Mathis of Ranger; eleven grand-
children; twenty-five great-grandchildren; and seven
great-great-grandchildren.
