German Potato Salad

6 medium size potatoes
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
6 strips bacon diced
1/2 cup cider vinegar
1 1/2 Tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
black pepper

Cook potatoes in boiling salt water until tender. Peel and slice. Season with salt and pepper.

Fry bacon until crisp, add bacon, broken into pieces, to potatoes. Heat onion in bacon fat until partly done. Add vinegar and sugar to onion and heat to boiling. Pour over potatoes and mix lightly. Serve at once.
