Ginger Snaps
3/4 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup molasses
2 tsp baking soda
2 cups flour
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp cloves
1 tsp ginger
additional sugar
Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg and molasses, beat well. Add dry ingredients. Shape dough into balls and roll in sugar. Bake 10-12 minutes at 375°F.
Yield: 24-36 cookies
