Peach Cobbler

2 pounds peaches, halved and sliced
2 Tbsp butter
1 1/4 cups sugar, divided
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1 stick butter
1 cup flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup milk

Heat a skillet or frying pan and add the 2 Tbsp butter. When melted, put in the peaches and saute until softened. Add 1/4 cup of the sugar and the cinnamon. Stir and set aside.

In microwave, melt the stick of butter in a glass baking dish (11 x 7 inches). In a bowl, mix the remaining 1 cup sugar, flour, baking powder and salt. Mix well, then stir in the milk. Spread the batter on top of the butter (it will not spread evenly. This doesn't matter.)

Pour the peaches over the batter and bake at 350° for approximately 50 minutes or until the cobbler is golden.

Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream.
