Really Sloppy Joes
1 pound lean ground beef
1 medium onion
2/3 cup ketchup
1/4 cup water
1 Tablespoon vinegar (any kind)
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon prepared mustard
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
6 drops hot pepper sauce
4 hamburger buns, toasted
Brown the beef in a large frying pan over med-high heat for about 10 minutes, stirring frequently at first to break the meat into small clumps. While browning, peel the onion & chop into 1/4 inch pieces, and add to the beef. Cook for 2 minutes, stirring frequently. Add the rest of the ingredients, and cook uncovered over med-low heat for 10 minutes. Add up to 1/4 cup more water if the mixture seems too dry. It should be thick & juicy rather than watery.
