Sugared and Spiced Nuts
3 cups pecan or walnuts halves
1 cup sugar
1/3 cup water
1 Tbsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp cloves
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
Bake nuts 10 minutes at 275°F. In sauce pan combine all remaining ingredients except vanilla. Boil 2 minutes. Remove. Stir in vanilla and nuts. Whip slotted spoon, remove to foil or wax paper. Separate and let dry.
