FastWeb Please take your time to fill out your profiles so they can inform you of scholarships. It's very useful for those looking for free money. But of course, you have to work for it... *TWO THUMBS UP* I sincerely recommend this.
Scholarships.com Another site searching for scholarships for you.
Just a few quick tips for those seriously considering finding scholarships and getting them too.
1)Don't give up any opportunity whatsoever. DO NOT GIVE UP! If you really want scholarships, you have to go after them yourself. I really mean that. The more you try, the more chances you will have to win.
2)Don't be turned off by scholarships because they aren't worth much. Consider this: If everyone thinks like this for every small scholarship, then no one will apply for it. Then the genius who actually applies will win all of those scholarships. Like Tip #1, don't give up opportunities. They will add it someday. The smaller the scholarship or the organization is, the more likely you will win.
3)From Tip #3, go for the local scholarships. (Go for them all, of course, but just don't forget about the local scholarships.) Since less people know about them and they cover a smaller area, chances are that less people are going to apply. Then you will have a more likely chance to win.
4)Start early. Do not procrastinate. You may look at a scholarship in January and see the deadline in March. Then you will put it aside and forget it until after the deadline has passed or find it the night before it. It is possible to finish a scholarship application in one night, but that may not be the best application you could put out.
5)Be neat. Remember that these scholarships are subjective in nature. Even though you might have good credentials, the scholarship committee reviewing your application may not appreciate your dinner all over the pages.
6)Last of all, DON'T BE DISCOURAGED! Yes, there will be rejection after rejection...however, what's a rejection when the next thing you know, a $10,000 scholarship is being awarded to you?
These are my feelings on scholarships. Follow them and you will succeed.
