Video Game Fanime

As a fellow video game fanatic, I've dedicated this page to showcase some of my fan art from the various video games I enjoy playing on my spare time. This section will include the genre of fighting games(mostly).

Click on the tubnail to see the full version of the picture. These pictures are specially sized for printing a sheet so feel free to print them out. Also, please tell me what pics you like on the guestbook if you have time. State the title, and what you liked about it. I always want feedback on my pics.

Warning: Images range between 90KB to 300 KB. Please be extra patient since file sizes are larger than usual due to the fact that they are specially arranged for printing out. After all, this isn't a text page so I guess you really can't expect images to load as fast as text. Also, most of the images on here are on my Geocities account and therefore it may take awhile to load due to the busy server.

Title: Fairy Rain: Ling Xiao Yu*NEW*
Size: 585 x 780 [170 KB]
Date of Completion: June 4, 1999
Comments: A picture of Ryu, another role model of mine. He's alwasy been a favorite male video game character because of his character design. He reminds me of an honorable Japanese man. Anyhow, this picture was inspired while I was listening to BSB's "Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely" from their second album just recently released. The song reminded me of Ryu, since he's just a lonier for life. So I drew a portrait of him in a sketchy feeling as I do with most of my work now. I made some of the lines really thing in this one, like his bandana so it would seem more "real." My lines are getting thinner and thinner by the minute. Although I wanted to make this a fast pic in the process, it seemed like forever to color it. You would think it would faster now that I'm using the faster way to CG, but it took just as long, if not longer, than a cel style illustration. I kinda got frustrated with the hair, since the hair wasn't blending properly. Aside from the difficulty of the hair, I like this picture very much. I'm proud of the bandana the most, and how I made the picture dreamy and soft as I want my pics to look.

Title: And When You Entered My Life
Size: 661 x 638 [190 KB]
Date of Completion: March 16, 1999
Comments: Just a portrait of Hinata, from Rival Schools. I was looking through my sketch book, and I found this pic and decided to color it. Originally, I didn't plan on rendering it, but since I had time on my hands and it was inked, I went for it. Yes, i know the drawing isn't all too good. I wish I could have made her look "cuter" and more "childish". The only thing that I was really successful on this pic was the poem I wrote to go with it. I dunno... something just popped up in my head while I was rending this pic and so I wrote down what I felt.-_-;; The hair on this one's kinda shabby, but oh well. At least I was able to keep this picture around 190KB, aside from my usual 230KB or more.

Title: Haru Ichiban: Sakura Kasugano
Size: 638 x 841 [222 KB]
Date of Completion: February 10, 1999
Comments: If you've seen my VERY first Sakura picture in the old sketches page, I am pretty sure this will show a huge improvement. After playing hours and hours of Rival schools, I decided to draw Sakura, one of my favorite characters. I think she represents the modern Japanese school girl; especially since she wears a sailor fuku. This pic took many hours, I think 16 since it was colored in cel style on Adobe Photoshop. The background was from a cherry blossom pic I found somewhere on the Internet. I hope to do more Rival School fanart soon.

Title: Graceful Opera Swordswoman: Xianghua
Size: 616 x 798 [237 KB]
Date of Completion: November 11, 1998
Comments: It's been awhile since I did any type of video game fanart. This is of Xianghua, the new cute heroine of Soul Calibur, sequel to Soul Edge! I wasn't sure if Seung Mina would be on the game, so I figured she will probably be my new character to play (I like the cute, fast types in fighting games). I'm pretty proud of this CG.... well with the exception of a mistake I had in the picture.(I'M SO EMBARRASSED ABOUT IT!) The coloring technique was done in cel style. I haven't done cel style in awhile so I figured I should try it again. The lines are a lot better than the previous works I've had in the past. As for background, it is taken from a picture of the province Guilin, the same place my favorite Chinese gymnast Mao Hui Lan (Team Captian of China's '96 Olympic Woman's Gymnastics team) comes from

Title: Cammy and Guile*NON CG*
Size: 576 x 768 [221 KB]
Date of Completion: September 24, 1998
Comments: A Non CG drawing of Cammy and Guile from Street Fighter 2 series. This one was cross hatched for my art sketch book since my art teacher suggested that I try other ways of coloring my pictures. I suppose that's why I did cross hatching sine it reminded me of manga colored stuff. I did this VERY loose, actually scribbling the picture on. For a first try at cross hatching I guess I did okay. Although this picture would look a lot better if it were seen in real life.
