W. R. WHITE’S WILL

(William Rufus White)


Gibson County Court, September Term 1899

W. R. White of the eighteenth District of Gibson County and State of Tenn. (Farmer) Realizing the uncertainty of life and being in feble health, but of sound mind and memory and judgement, do make and declare this to be my last will and testament in manner and form following;

I give, demise and bequeath unto my youngest daughter, Mary Adline White, forty areas of land of the North end of my land including houses and all appertinances there on. To have and to hold unto my said daughter, during her natural life time. At her death said land is to be back to the original heirs.

I give and bequeath unto my beloved children viz. Bentett (Bennett) Allen White, Ezekiel Jocephus White, Andrew Johnson White and William Rufus White, now deceased, his heirs, the remaining fifty six acres of my land being the South end of said tract, together with all my personal property to be sold and equally divided among them after all my indebtedness is paid. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal, this 21st day of Sept One Thousand eight hundred ninety five.

Signed sealed and published and acknowledged by the above named testator to be his last will and testament in our presence and we each at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other, subscribe our names as witnesses.
