2007 STARS ON ICE DALLAS SHOW REVIEW: Part Two

Lola (aka Jennifer Robinson) returns for a second visit with Stars On Ice in the flirty number Show Off from the original Broadway cast recording of The Drowsy Chaperone. I loved how she played Lola to the hilt! A real regular "show off"!

After a 15-minute intermission (which actually lasted 22 minutes), Act Two opened with a video of a few cast members talking about their favorite TV shows. One in particular that was worth mentioning was the FOX-TV series 24, a series David Pelletier claims to have never watched. That led into 240 SECONDS, a four-minute skit involving a very expensive and prized figure skate.
During a dinner party in showing off this skate...
the lights go out and the skate disappears!
Enter David as a Jack Bauer-type complete with flashlight.
In the midst of the search for the prized skate, the cast members went into the audience and even frisked an elderly gentleman. They even looked at ME as a suspect! (I mean how could I have stolen that skate? I had a camera taking pictures the whole time, ladies!)
Eventually, it was the butler (Todd Eldredge) who did it!

With the skate found, it was on to Michael Weiss and his second solo number, Home. A moving performance as good as he could deliver.

LOLA'S BACK!!!
Even if she was just showing off, Lola (aka Jen) was sexy and sweet at the same time. And, to add comedic emphasis, she even stole the start time of Yuka Sato and Jason Dungjen's entrance on the ice! What a riot!

Yuka Sato and her husband, Jason Dungjen, proceeded to skate a marvelous program to Takes Two To Tango.
This had a nice, catchy beat and almost looked as if they were doing some ice dancing from the moves they made.

Ilia came back for his second solo, skating to Michael Bolton's Go The Distance, from the soundtrack Hercules. Nice up close shots of Ilia, but slighty out of focus!

TAKE ME OUT TO THE BALLGAME!
Steven, Todd, David, Michael, Alexei and John don the baseball jerseys and real aluminum bats for a tribute not just to the great American pasttime, but also to the OTHER great American pasttime, skating to Trace Adkins' Swing.

Katia came back out on the ice with a baseball and gave it to David, who in turn gave it to a young fan sitting a few rows down from where I was! AWWWW!!!!! Isn't that special?

Katia skated another wonderful solo number, Cinecita, arranged by Steve Stevens. Again, Katia showed that she has indeed grown up as a single skater.

Thanks again to the lighting gremlins, I missed getting any photos of Steven Cousins' second solo number, Remember, sung wonderfully by Josh Groban.

For their second number this year, Kyoko Ina and John Zimmerman skated to Melissa Etheridge's version of the Janis Joplin hit, Piece Of My Heart. They blended in athletical moves and some suicidal tricks including this...
...a literal headbanger!
This number is NOT for the faint of heart!

Alexei's second solo number was an interesting one where he acts like a cat playing dead and then some with this number titled Blues For Klook.

JAMIE SALE AND DAVID PELLETIER AS ONE IN HEART, MIND, BODY AND SOUL!
I LOVED this number! It fits them PERFECTLY! Skating to One by Grammy-winning singer Mary J. Blige and assisted by the group U2, Jamie and David have come up with another skating gem for their fans and their peers! Hey, Jamie and David, could I have my heart back....PLEASE???
From Norah Jones to Wynonna Judd, Jamie and David seem to put any piece of music they use to great use in style and grace! I am really in awe of them! They work hard and earn EVERY penny of the money they make!
I wound up taking 17 photos of this one routine alone! I must have either set a record or was so enthralled with this number, I didn't want to miss getting at least a few decent shots!

Ladies and gentleman, Todd Eldredge (aka The Butler)
Todd skated a really good routine to the Goo Goo Dolls' Better Days.

I BELIEVE I CAN FLY!!!
The closing number was sad in a way because it marked the end of the show, but it was in a good way as well. Yolanda Adams' version of I Believe I Can Fly sends a message from the Stars On Ice cast members: If you can believe in whatever you do in life, you will succeed!

I thank you for joining me on the tour of this year's Stars On Ice show in Dallas, Texas. Have a great day and come back to visit soon!
