The show was about 10 minutes behind schedule in starting, but once the show got underway.....it was worth the price of admission, especially since it was billed as the "Scott Hamilton Farewell Tour".
I really loved this first group number...it set the tone for the evening. Especially the presentation and the energy that the skaters showed at the start.Nice shot of Denis and Jenni during the opening number.
Enjoyed Scott Hamilton's opening solo to James Brown...and he was indeed feeling good! Wished I didn't have dry-eye syndrome, else I would have teared up easily most of the night....especially during the "A Song For You" with a younger kid that looked like Scotty when he was also young and starting out in figure skating. It was a nice retrospect to start the evening off.
Nice group number to "2000 A.D......Reaching For The Stars", except when Kurt fell on a SIMPLE jump. But he didn't lose any timing the rest of the way....and the group consisting of Kurt, Tara, Roca/Sur and Meno/Sand skated so smoothly and, to me, stirred some emotions inside of me.
Steven Cousins skated magically and in tempo to Creed! He was definitely on as well as the rest of the cast.
Kristi's first solo piece of the night fitted her really well. Didn't know Sting sang that song that is promoted in commercial form on television. Kristi was and is "the desert rose who always smells sweet."
