I'm 44 (born on September 6, 1963....some 13 weeks to the day BEFORE the assassination of President John Fitzgerald Kennedy) and live near Mineola, Texas, 80 miles east of Dallas. I was a resident of Cassoday, Kansas, for 13 years, moved to Texas in 1977 and had lived in Garland, Texas, for 11 years before the move to East Texas. I moved back to Garland and lived there for over a year before moving back to Mineola.
On a personal level, I'm a Christian (a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ) and have been a believer since July 1980 when I was saved at youth camp at Mount Lebanon Baptist Encampment, located near Cedar Hill, a Dallas suburb. It's been a constant challenge each day to try and live for Jesus and for Our Heavenly Father....and it's not been easy, especially when my temper flares up.
From 1979 to 1988 and from 1991 to 1993, I was a member of Northlake Baptist Church, located at 1501 North Country Club Road in the northeast corner of Garland. They have a web site now and it's listed below on my links section of this page. Check it out by clicking below.
I had worked for Ken Jones at the now-defunct KTLR-FM in Terrell. The studio is now an abandoned office building that has seen better days. He has a station with the transmitter located in Farmersville (KXEZ-FM 92.1, a Classic Country format). He also owns KHYI-FM out of Plano (with its original studio located in Allen). And there are plans for both station headquarters to move by mid-March 2007 to north Dallas around Greenville Avenue between LBJ Freeway and Forest Lane.
I have set up a web site of a tribute to Kellea June Freeman, who passed away February 15, 1983. Although I was very disappointed that The Garland News didn't publish the tribute, I'm not angry at them. They just didn't have the space for it. But I do, so click on over to the tribute page here.
If you haven't recognized it on the cover web site, I'm a sports addict. I love sports, whether its baseball, football, basketball, golf, etc. To find out about what's been happening in the sporting world, check out another site...this one at ESPN. To get there, click here.
I also love to watch figure skating....and it dates back to Dorothy Hamill and her Hamill camel when she skated her best free skate performance in the 1976 Winter Olympic Games. By the way, I have moved my links to my other favorite female figure skaters to my Rosalynn Sumners website. Check it out here.
