Eight stars of gold on a field of blue,
Alaska's Flag, may it mean to you
The blue of the sea, the evening sky,
The mountain lakes and the flow'rs nearby,
The gold of the early sourdough dreams,
The precious gold of the hills and streams,
The brilliant stars in the northern sky,
The Bear, the Dipper, and shining high,
The great North star with its steady light.
O'er land and sea a beacon bright,
Alaska's Flag to Alaskans dear,
The simple flag of a last frontier.
Hello! Welcome to my Alaska page! My name is Wendy and I lived in Fairbanks from from 1967 to 1972 and then again from 1975 until 1981. The first time I lived in Fairbanks my father was in the Army stationed at Ft. Wainwright and I was just a baby. When we moved back in 1975 I was in Elementary school, starting 3rd grade, and I attended Denali Elementary through the 6th grade. After Denali, I attended Ryan Jr. High School for 7th and 8th grades, from 1979 until 1981. Unfortunately my family moved out of Fairbanks in 1981, otherwise I would have attended Lathrop High School. As you can see, I have added links below to all three of these schools, as well as to West Valley. I had friends attending both schools.
