I found out the clutch pack was trashed in the rear end of my car. That is why my right tire would not spin!
I figured I may have lost up to a full second on the track. No traction = slower times. That would mean I was drving a 13 second car. The fixed posi in my 4 banger makes a huge difference. You don't have traction, find it!
All runs were made from 2nd Gear, with a lot of wheel spin. |

All runs were made from 1rst gear. On my 17 second runs, I grinded second gear. How? I was trying too hard to run a 14. The car could do it. The last three runs were made in 1rst Gear, sitting at an idle, with minimal wheel spin, and the radio was on! The only thing different from the August runs, were the underdrive pulleys were added to the car, and some experience behind the wheel! |

It was cold! It was below 40 Degrees. The new tires helped a lot. Although I had too much tire for my car. I had more traction than I wanted (the car seemed to bog a little off the line), and it was hard to spin the tires off the line. I think it cost me my 14 Second runs. I ran consistent, and I drove better than I ever have before. I missed one gear, and that was third gear. Other than that, I was happy, but slower than I had anticipated. I am not going to lie, street racing helped me learn a lot about drivng my car. Those of you who are serious about a street/strip car, I like 3.73's at the track! I can jump out on everyone, and if I was racing a faster car, it wouldn't pass me until third gear. No one could really hang in first, and second. Be safe! |
